Our next Standard Special for Spring 2019 is right around the corner and this time around we want you to be the builder!
For our next Standard Special we want to feature one of two of our favorite body woods — roasted ash or black limba. Both of these tonewoods have stellar tonal characteristics, have a beautiful look all on their own, and pair wonderfully with a birdseye maple fingerboard. In keeping with this theme, this Standard Special will not feature a topwood! Instead we want these body materials to be the star of the show. Here’s what each of these body woods deliver tonally:
Roasted Ash: Warm and punchy with a growly midrange character and deeper in the low-end compared to swamp ash.
Black Limba: Tight and full low end with a compressed midrange character.
But that’s not all! You’ll also get to help us decide between 60’s, 70’s, or Tom Kennedy pickup spacing for our Fodera/Duncan Dual Coil pickups. This bass will come with our Standard 3-band preamp, but as a special offer, the first three builds will come with our up-graded 4-band Standard Preamp!
Once all the votes are tallied we’ll announce the winning specs on Instagram (@foderaguitars) on Monday, March 18 at noon!
