Victor Wooten purchased his first Monarch bass, serial #037 in 1983. He still uses it regularly in concert and on recordings and considers it to be his #1 instrument. Thanks to Victor's incredible talent and popularity, his Monarch bass has been seen by a great number of people throughout the years. As a result we have recieved so many requests for a replica of his personal bass that we decided to offer the Victor Wooten '83 Classic model as seen here. The Vic Classic is essentially a Monarch Deluxe featuring the details of Victor's personal bass.

The Victor Wooten '83 Classic features Dove Tail (set neck) "heeless" neck to body construction, 3 piece neck of highly select and aged hard maple, old growth East Indian Rosewood fingerboard that is taken from the original batch of wood that Victor's personal bass was made from (we bought a lot of it back in 1982)! 34" scale, 24 frets, genuine mother of pearl dot and tulip inlays, EMG PJ pickups and the proprietary Monarch Pre-Amp.
