In honor of our 34th year in business, today’s Featured Instrument is the first instrument ever built by Fodera Guitars, ’83 Monarch Elite Guitar, serial no. 1!
Today, March 14th, 2017, we are proud to celebrate Fodera Guitars’ 34th year in business! It seems like only yesterday that we were just three people in a small shop on Avenue O here in Brooklyn and today we count ourselves twenty people strong — all of us passionately dedicated to producing the very finest electric stringed instruments.
For the first time in our Company’s history, amazingly enough, electric guitars are now officially part of our “regular” product line. Although we have built guitars since the beginning, they have always been custom order “one-offs.” With the introduction of both the Imperial and Emperor guitars at this year’s NAMM Show this has all changed. We invite you to take a walk down memory lane with us — from the very first Fodera (#1, which happened to be a guitar!) to our very latest guitars…
Through it all, the one constant that has inspired us has been the incredible love and support that you, our customers, friends, and family, show us each and every day. We know that we could not even begin to do what we do without you so, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
– The Fodera Team
On our 34th company anniversary, it seems fitting to feature Fodera #1, as 2017 marked the release of our first official guitar models, the Emperor Classic Guitar and the Imperial Guitar.
The Emperor Classic Guitar, our double-cutaway, bolt-on offering, combines the sparkle and chime of classic 60’s and 70’s blues and surf sounds with added tonal flexibility for today’s player. As an extension of our Standard Classic line, the Emperor Classic Guitar is available with a choice of 8 high gloss color finishes and choice of pickguard.
The Imperial Guitar, our single-cutaway offering, combines the classic thick, rich tone of guitars from the 50’s updated with modern aesthetics, playability, and construction techniques. Representing the guitar counterpart to our Custom line, the Imperial Guitar features a dovetail (Deluxe) neck joint and is available with a variety of premium body, neck, fingerboard, and top woods.
First released publicly at NAMM 2017, the new guitars have been met with excellent feedback from players and they have begun shipping out to customers and dealers alike. The Emperor Classic and Imperial Guitars are currently available to order from the following dealers:
