Carpenter

Job Description

Fodera Guitars has an immediate opening for someone with experience in fine carpentry and lutherie. This is a full-time position in a creative, fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include neck and body processing and construction, wood selection, lumber maintenance and inventory, and wood sanding. Other duties, tasks and projects may be assigned at the discretion of management. 

Detailed Description

Must be highly motivated, posses integrity, have strong work ethic, and demonstrate personal initiative, a positive attitude, and be dependable. Must be adaptable, have a good sense of priority, measurements and processes, excellent problem solving skills, an eye for detail (book-matching and wood selection), and knowledge of various woods, machinery operation and safety. Turning out consistently excellent work, possessing clear communication skills, being punctual, a team player, and personal organization are a must.

Position requires utilization of hand and powered tools. Must have experience with and will be required to use a jointer, planer, band saw, fret slotter, flat bed and edge sanders, glue presses and clamps, CNC machine and dust collection system.

Finish Sander

Job Description

Fodera Guitars has an immediate opening for someone with experience in finish sanding and lutherie. This is a full-time position in a creative, fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include neck and body sanding and waxing to a pristine finish, identifying scratches, fills and artwork on top woods, installing inlays, touch up wood sanding, drilling control layouts and bolt-on recesses, and beveling the edges of fingerboards. Paint knowledge and spray experience is a plus. Other duties, tasks and projects may be assigned at the discretion of management.

Detailed Description

Must be highly motivated, posses integrity and strong work ethic, and demonstrate personal initiative, a positive attitude, and be dependable. Must be adaptable, have a good sense of priority, measurements and processes, excellent problem solving skills, an eye for detail identifying an uneven finish or imperfections in the wood, use of various sanding tools including a palm sander, knowledge of various woods is a plus. Turning out consistently excellent work, possessing clear communication skills, being punctual, a team player, and personal organization are a must.

Position requires utilization of hand powered tools and machinery (drill press, belt sander, bandsaw). Must have experience with buffing/polishing to a high gloss finish. Will be required to use a drill press with precision.
