Bill Mohler

 

When Bill Mohler was three years old he took his first steps in his musical career.  His Godfather, legendary vocalist Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, gave him his first instrument, a drum set. By the time he was 15, Bill began playing electric bass.  Within six months Bill was performing professionally in the Los Angeles area.

Upon graduating from high school, Bill headed to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music.  By his second year at Berklee, Bill was featured in "Bass Player" magazine.  He can be found in the Scouting Report section in the June 1996 edition.  That same year, Bill began playing acoustic bass and within three months changed his principle instrument from electric bass to the acoustic.   During the award ceremonies of his senior year, Bill was awarded with the "Outstanding Performer Award 1997-1998."  After earing his Bachelor's Degree, Bill returned to Los Angeles, ready to begin his career.

Bill toured Japan in the summer of 1998, performing at the Kobe Phoenix Jazz Festival and the Osaka Jazz Festival.  He also received fifth place in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition that same year.

Bill MohlerBill has performed with many well known jazz artists including, George Garzone, Terri Lynn Carington, Joe LaBarbera, Makoto Ozone, Phill Wilson, John Stowell, Tiereny Sutton, and Hall Crook.

In addition to Fodera Bass Guitars and strings, Bill endorses SWR amplifiers and speakers and D'Addario acoustic bass strings.  His original project, "Transition" was featured by SWR at the 2000 Winter NAMM show in Los Angeles.
