Primarily known as a guitar player, Jef Lee Johnson also plays bass on his solo projects. His choice is this custom Fodera Anthony Jackson Fretless 6-string with a Walnut top, dual-coil pickups and the Mike Pope/Fodera circuit.
Jef's performance credits include gigs with Sister Sledge, McCoy Tyner, Blue Magic, The Latenight with David Letterman Band, Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, George Duke, Rachelle Ferrell, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Nancy Wilson, Take 6, Aretha Franklin, and many more. Jef is currently touring with D'ANGELO.
He
has recorded with Rev. James Cleveland, Billy Joel, Dionne Ferris, Onaje
Allen Gumbs, Nelson Rangell, Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, Phyliss Hyman,
Gerald Veasley, The O'Jays, Tal Ross, Rob Reddy, Leon Huff, and others.
