Unique Features
We have had a number of great 4 strings come through the pipeline recently, much to the delight of the resident 4 string enthusiasts we have here at Fodera. This 4 string Emperor Bolt-on was built for one of our dealers in the U.S. and features a Mahogany body, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, Quilted Maple top, and Fodera single-coil J pickups.
Tonally, this bass is like a vintage J bass with a twist. The single coil pickups and Indian Rosewood fingerboard gives a deep and warm tone that is reminiscent of a vintage build, while the Mahogany body imparts richness to the tonal palate, with more prominent mids. This results in a bass with a super fat low end, a growling midrange, and smooth, velvety highs.
