Unique Features
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Vinny Fodera's brand-new Flame Koa Imperial Deluxe guitar.
After so many years of building custom instruments for others, it was about time Vinny built something for himself. Joey and I (Jason) actually had to force him to do it as he never felt comfortable allocating any of our limited build schedule to himself! We are thrilled with the result and that we had it finished just in time to be displayed at our booth at NAMM 2013, where it generated quite a buzz!
With its chambered Walnut body, Ebony fingerboard, and limited-edition Seymour Duncan Joe Bonamassa Humbuckers, this guitar has a smooth tone with solid lows, slightly compressed mids, and a well articulated high end. As of right now, this guitar is wired passively, but Vinny has plans to install the Fodera/Pope preamp at some point in the near future.
Visually, this build really pulled out all the stops. You may wish to check out pictures of the 5-piece neck (with Ebony stringers and a Brazilian Cherry center piece), and DEFINITELY take a look at the close-up of the fingerboard inlay (designed, of course, by Vinny and entirely cut and inlaid by hand!).
This guitar also features Sperzel locking tuners, a Tonepro locking bridge, and a proprietary, hand-carved Ebony tailpiece.
