Unique Features
Another "Golden Oldie!" This one is Fodera #27 and she was just back for some routine Fodera tender lovin' care! With its 3-piece dovetail body, wooden butterfly and original Monarch control layout and Fodera / HAZ Preamp, all of us here in the shop always feel like we are seeing and hearing ghosts when these old beauties make an appearance.
Interestingly, due to the way our electronics and pickups have developed over the years, in many ways these early Monarchs are the most "modern" instruments that we have ever built. The preamp and original generation of EMG pickups collectively had an amazing amount of gain to push the signal through the signal chain. Articulate and nuanced with powerful, deep lows, we never get tired of revisiting this part of our past!
