Unique Features
We present to you the first first of our 2013 NAMM instruments. The very first Fodera to be built with an Amboyna Burl top, Amboyna is a wood that Vinny has always loved and always wanted to work with, but finding pieces of the size and quality necessary to build a bass has sadly eluded us...until now!
The basic tone-wood package (Alder body, Ash Tone Block, Maple neck and Birdseye Maple fingerboard) is a tried and true recipe for a tonally balanced instrument that can be used on any gig. It's the same set of tonewoods used by Artie Reynolds on American Idol -- a gig that requires an incredibly diverse range of tones.
Of course given the fact that 2013 marks our 30th Anniversary, we pulled out all of the stops in every aspect of wood selection for our NAMM basses -- from the 5-piece necks made of Birdseye Maple, South American Rosewood and Flame Maple to the old stash FB materials, to simply stunning, one of a kind top woods. We hope that you enjoy these as much as we did bringing them into the World!
