Sometime during the process of preparing this bass for delivery, I recall someone mentioning that the figuring on this Quilted Redwood solid-top looked like crushed velvet. Velvet wishes it looked this good.
A Walnut body with an Alder tone block, combined with an Ebony fingerboard and 3 piece Ash neck, gives this Imperial 5 a punchy, articulate tone that is on the warm side of the spectrum. The deep lower cutaway and neck-through construction make it incredibly comfortable to play anywhere on the neck.
