Unique Features
This incredible Imperial guitar was built for a beloved member of our Fodera Team, Ken Hollins.
The "Tropical Hybrid" solid top came from a small piece of wood that we found in the back of the shop. While we are not certain of its species, we believe it to be a hybrid of Tulipwood and Brazilian Rosewood. Whatever it is, we were all in awe of its unique figuring and were eager to see it on an instrument!
With a figured Black Limba Korina body, Ebony fingerboard, and Duncan DC 57 Classics pickups, this guitar has an overall bright tone, slightly compressed and well articulated. It is a well-rounded instrument, capable of getting a variety of tones from biting, retro 60's to a thick and warm hum-bucking sound.
A guitarist himself, Vinny just had to be the one to try this one out. He spent a long time testing this guitar, making minor adjustments until its tone was just what the doctor ordered.
