Unique Features
Built for a long-time Fodera player and friend, this beautiful Monarch 4 Elite is loaded with some not-so-obvious customizations that get to the heart of what it is to truly "dial-in" the specifications of your Custom Fodera so that it plays and sounds like no other bass in the World.
First off, our customer was very actively involved with selecting his stunning, Curly Walnut top, having made three trips to the shop as part of this process. Along with 5A Flame / Curly Maple, Curly Walnut of this caliber is one of our no-charge wood top options. Additionally, we hand selected the lightest pieces of Alder possible for his body and Tone Block without making the bass so light that tone started to suffer.
Other customizations include a deeper lower cutaway that allows for complete and easy access to all 24 frets and 70's PUP spacing -- something that you normally wouldn't expect on an Alder body / Rosewood FB instrument that provides just a little bit more cut and clarity to the overall tone.
All in all, this is a flat out joy to play with a rich, deep thundering low-end and a warm overall tonal palate that never lacks clarity or definition.
